Mangalore Institute of Oncology (MIO), a specialty cancer hospital in Mangalore celebrated the first annual day of its Udupi Day Care Center on July 8th , 2023. The chief guest, Dr. T.S. Rao, Administrative Director and General Laparoscopic Surgeon of Hi-Tech Hospital, Udupi, spoke about the excellent service at the Day Care Center and praised the care and concern shown by the cancer specialists, especially Dr. Suresh Rao, Dr. Sanath Kumar Hegde, Dr. Jalaluddin Akbar, Dr. Krishna Prasad, along with Dr. Venkataraman Kini and Dr. Hemanth Kumar and their team of nurses and staff. Many patients and their caregivers have come to us with their excellent opinions about the services at MIO, which has brought me great joy, he said.
Dr. D Srikanth Rao, Chief Executive Officer of MIO, spoke about the activities carried out by MIO during the past year and shed light on the work done by the Day Care Center, including providing treatment to nearly four thousand patients with cancer and chemotherapy to over two thousand patients. These figures indicate the trust that people have in MIO, he said. He also provided information on several upcoming plans for the hospital.
The program began with a prayer and lighting of the lamp. Dr. Komal Seth and Mrs. Shalini Subodh introduced and welcomed the guests with a floral tribute. Mr. Rajaram Nayak, Chief Financial Officer of MIO conducted the program.
