On June 28th, a volunteer training program was conducted at the Mangalore Institute of Oncology Hospital, Thirthahalli, aimed at educating the public about cancer and spreading awareness through trained volunteers.
The inaugural session was graced by Dr. Suresh Rao, Director of MIO, who emphasized the importance of commitment and compassion among healthcare professionals in his address. Mr. Araga Jnanendra, MLA, lauded the dedication and selflessness of the MIO staff and management, highlighting that MIO remains one of the few institutions that serve patients without the pursuit of profit.

The volunteers responded enthusiastically, offering positive feedback and appreciating the commitment of M.I.O towards community outreach and cancer education.
Among the notable attendees were Mr. A.N. Vijendra, Volunteer, and Mr. T.K. Ramesh Shetty, President of Kannada Sahitya Parishath, Thirthahalli. The program witnessed participation from over 30 volunteers from various regions, all eager to contribute to this noble cause.
