“Hospitals and staff must fulfil their responsibilities in the management of bio medical waste – Dr. Ravi DS

 

A program to raise awareness about bio medical waste management rules-2016, was held at the Mangalore Institute of Oncology Hospital at pumpwell on Saturday July 29th 2023. Speaking as a resource person at the event, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board Regional Officer Dr. Ravi DS spoke about how Biomedical waste that is not managed responsibly, can cause environmental pollution and the extinction of living beings. In this regard, hospitals should not forget their duty. Staff should understand its importance and fulfil their responsibilities. The tree campaign, the BMW programs at MIO are complementary to each other, he said. The presiding officer was Dr. Rohan Chandra Gatty senior surgical oncologist at MIO. The main guests were District Surveillance Officer Dr. Navinchandra Kulal, and Kannada actor Sri Deepak Rai Panaje were present.

Dr. Rayllin Fernandes of MIO coordinated the program. At the event, the COO of MIO Dr. Lal Madathil, officials and staff were present.”
