Globally, screening for cancer is highly prioritized as it helps detect the presence of cancer before it spreads throughout the body, thereby making treatment easier and more effective. Mangalore Institute of Oncology participated at the taluk level medical fair at Mudigere Taluk hospital on 28/04/2022. The program was organized by the Taluk panchayat Mudigere and Taluk health office Mudigere. Dr Preetika of MIO participated in the medical fair and conducted cancer screening in people with suspected symptoms. The camp helped in the detection of suspect cancers in 10 individuals and a detailed pathological assessment has been advised for them. The CEAC unit of MIO carries out these programs as part of corporate social responsibility endeavors.
