Dr. Krishna Prasad, Director, Mangalore Institute of Oncology delivered a Talk on “Awareness of Ovarian Cancer” on Thursday September 23rd, 2021 at Surprise studio, Ballalbagh, Mangalore. The program was organised by JCI Mangalore Disha, Mangalore Rise combined, Fly High Charitable Trust and Hair Donation. In his talk Dr. Krishna Prasad said that ovarian cancer is the seventh most common cancer in the world and the third most commonly detected cancer amongst Indian women. He stated that the 5-year survival rate for ovarian cancer is 94% when diagnosed at Stage 1 with only 15% cases diagnosed at this stage as women are not aware of the symptoms, do not go for regular check-up or seek timely treatment.
The program was attended by over 100 enthusiasts and the interactive session with Dr. Krishna Prasad and the knowledge seekers was highly appreciated by both the organisers and participants alike.
