On Tuesday, March 4th, a condolence meet was held at Sullia to pay tribute to late Ravi Chandra Kapila, a renowned figure in the region. The event, which was attended by around 600 people, was also an opportunity to spread awareness about cancer in rural areas.
The program began with a heartfelt tribute to Ravi Chandra Kapila by Dr. Suresh Rao, Director and Senior Radiation Oncologist at Mangalore Institute of Oncology. Dr. Rao shared fond memories of the departed soul and highlighted his contributions to the community.
Following the tribute, Dr. Rao delivered an insightful talk on cancer awareness, emphasizing the importance of early detection and prevention. He stressed that cancer is a growing concern in rural areas, where access to healthcare facilities and awareness about the disease are limited.
