Mangalore Institute of Oncology, Thirthahalli hosted a press meet to announce the empanelment of ABRK scheme at our hospital on 25/5/25. Dr Suresh Rao director MIO, Dr Divya Jyothi n, Dr Suhas navada and Dr Bhavya KP were present at the press meet with the reporters of various prominent newspapers.
Dr Suresh Rao brought to the notice of all present that Malnad region is seeing upsurge in cancer cases like CA stomach,pancreas,colon,breast, etc which are most commonly seen in urbanised cities and are usually related to lifestyle changes seen in these cities. He cautioned that if no quick measures are taken, we are in for a catastrophe. Steps such as awareness camps and also knowing one’s own health and getting evaluated in case of any suspicion is the key to fight this disease. He also announced that ABRK scheme now starting in MIO Thirthahalli will enable poor patients to get access to world-class cancer care at their doorstep.
