The festival of Diwali, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil, was celebrated across the branches of Mangalore Institute of Oncology (MIO) with vibrant enthusiasm and traditional fervor. Each branch began the celebrations with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, a gesture rooted in Indian culture and symbolic of dispelling ignorance, spreading hope, and fostering positive energy.
At MIO Pumpwell, the Diwali lamp was lit by Dr. Suresh Rao, Director and Head of Radiation Oncology. Dr. Divya Jyothi, Surgical Oncologist, led the ceremony at MIO Thirthahalli, accompanied by Dr. Bhavya, Consultant General Surgeon. Over at MIO Udupi, Dr. Vishwapriya ,Consultant pathologist along with Mr. Rajaram Naik, Chief Finance Officer, graced the event with the inaugural lighting, marking the beginning of the celebrations and finally over at MIO Karangalpady the ceremony was led by Dr.Rallyn Fernandes accompanied by Dr. M.S Baliga.
The lighting of the lamp during Diwali holds profound significance. Traditionally, the diya (lamp) is believed to bring clarity, peace, and enlightenment.
