Mangalore Institute of Oncology (MIO) proudly celebrated the 78th Independence Day across its branches in Mangalore, Udupi, and Thirthahalli, with each location embracing the spirit of freedom and unity.

The celebrations in Mangalore were graced by the presence of Dr. Ruhi Rafik, who served as the chief guest. In Udupi, Mr. Girish Anchan led the festivities, while Sister Inchara  presided over the event in Thirthahalli. Each of these esteemed guests shared their insights on the significance of Independence Day and the responsibilities that come with it.

This year’s theme, Viksith Bharat (Developed India), was highlighted by our Director, Dr. Suresh Rao, who addressed the gathering with a thought-provoking message. He emphasized the importance of being proactive and responsible citizens, urging everyone to take a stand against corruption and societal issues rather than merely blaming the government. His words resonated with the audience, inspiring a renewed sense of patriotism and duty.

The celebrations culminated with a series of engaging and fun-filled activities. The staff at MIO enthusiastically participated in games and enjoyed delicious snacks, bringing a lively and festive atmosphere to the event. It was a day of reflection, celebration, and, truly capturing the essence of Independence Day.

MIO is committed to not only providing exceptional healthcare but also fostering a sense of community and national pride. As we move forward, let’s continue to work together towards a brighter, more developed India.
